چکیده
Swellings over the finger joints in association with Dupuytren's disease (DD) were noted in 1893 by Archibald E. Garrod, Assistant Physician at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and later described by Garrod in the Bridsh Medical Journal (1904) as 'pads' (Fig. 15.1). Sir James Paget (1875) had previously written in the same journal an article entided 'On the minor signs of gout in the hands and feet' and wrote of the 'formation of abnormal bursae'. He described the evolution of such a swelling as follows:

Objective: Patella is a sesamoid bone which develops in the quadriceps tendon. It is an uncommon site for neoplasms. The most common primary tumors which involve patella are benign. These include chondroblastoma, giant cell tumor (GCT) and aneurysmal bone cyst. Malignant lesions are less common in patella. These encompass metastasis, osteosarcoma and hemangioendothelioma. The most common compla...

متن کاملBilateral extensor mechanism disruption after total knee arthroplasty in two morbidly obese patients.
Disruption of the extensor mechanism as a result of patellar tendon or quadriceps tendon rupture is an uncommon but devastating complication after total knee arthroplasty. Treating a disrupted extensor mechanism can be challenging, particularly in patients who are morbidly obese, due to an increased risk of postoperative complications. Therefore, despite the debilitating nature of extensor mech...
متن کاملAn Anatomical Variation of Extensor Indicis Muscle: A Case Report
The extensor indicis is a narrow, elongated skeletal muscle in the deep layer of the dorsal forearm that originates from the one third of the distal posterior surface of the shaft of ulna below the origin of the extensor pollicis longos and interosseous membrane. It runs through the fourth tendon compartment with the extensor digitorum under the extensor retinaculum. The extensor indicis joins ...

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of knee extensor and ankle plantar flexor fatigue on dynamic balance among active elderly males. Fifteen healthy individuals having age of 72±6.57 years, height of 168.4±4.8 cm and weight of 70.5±7.4 kg without history of injuries at lower extremity, participated in this study. Knee extensor and ankle plantar flexor muscles fatigued with f...
